The Problem

Too many kids are struggling with reading. Great research based tools are available, but many students continue to struggle. We individualize instruction using the best research based tools available to bring our students' reading to grade level as quickly as possible.

Who is our Program for?

 Our program is for students in third grade through high school who continue to struggle with reading for any reason.

Some of our students have had high quality intervention for years but still struggle. Others had a reading problem that was undiagnosed for years. We work with students with dyslexia, students with decoding problems, fluency problems, and coexisting difficulties in the ares of speech and language, attention, memory and more. 

Some have lost confidence and some have lost hope in their ability to become a good reader. 

As these students make progress in reading, they gain confidence and and become more engaged in learning.

What We Do

We use all of the research and resources available to best individualize instruction for each student, and providing each student with the instruction they need for the fastest path to grade level reading.

Our instruction successfully improves all of the areas of reading - phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

The Results

Our students reach grade level reading, and learn how to continue to grow as readers after they reach grade level and tutoring stops. 

 The Purpose and Goal of McGrath Reading:

1.To provide students with the individualized instruction they need to reach grade level reading.

2. To give them the tools they need to ‘self teach’ and continue to grow as readers once they get there.

 3. To open the world of books and reading to students and help students develop a lifelong love of reading. 

 4.To give them the reading skills they need to widen their options and possibly change the trajectory of their lives.
